JV "Aisberg" was created as a limited liability structure in November, 1995 on the province of Chizay, Beregova region in the Zakarpatye area, Ukraine.
The location of the production facilities was chosen specifically because the region has been famous for its wine-making traditions dating back centuries. Large areas of fruit-bearing vineyards provide the ability to expand grape plantations and its proximity to Hungary allow for the purchase of grapes for processing directly from Hungarian wine-makers.
The total area of the industrial infrastructure of JV ‘Aisberg’ Ltd. is approximately 3,650 square meters. Below is a breakdown of the total area (in square meters) per facility:
On the production side, an optimal combination of modern machinery, professionalism of technologists and winemakers as well as century old traditions, maximizes the speed and quality of the wine making process. Our high-end machinery used in manufacturing allows for efficient, top-quality production. A line of Italian-made machines were installed which are able to produce both regular and sparkling wines at a rate of 6000 bottles per hour and 4000 bottles per hour. Not only do these state-of-the-art machines improve the automation process but also require only 6 workers for support. The primary winemaking facility contains two main machines that process grapes at a rate of 40 tons per hour and 20 tons per hour, respectively, which allows us to process nearly 9000 tons of grapes during a season. Moreover, our wine storage facility, which is cooled and maintained at a constant optimal temperature, enables us to hold up to 9 million liters in 2 core stainless steel enamel polished containers. Quality control and productivity is strictly monitored on many levels by wine experts, scientists, and the State Committee on Metrology and Standardization. Our modern wine storage facilities ensure that each bottle filled meets and exceeds the necessary conditions needed to be considered high-quality and all production processes are held to the utmost sanitary guidelines. Wine manufacturing is not seasonal. It is firmly based on favorable market conditions and availability of quality wine ingredients. The art of fine wine making involves only the best ingredients. Anything less will only yield unfavorable results which would be unacceptable by our standards. Purchase of accessories and wine materials are made by the Department of Supply on the basis of pre-orders and forecasting of overall demand. Since autumn of 2000, our primary sources of grapes and wine materials include Hungary, the Republics of Crimea and the regions of Odessa, Kherson, and Nikolaev. Secondary sources come from the Zakarpatye area from local farmers, state farms and collective farms. All grapes are produced and bottles by JV Aisberg. |
